Default Hey, there have only recently been folks test the downpipes-only on the S4...

which is 3.5 years old. That's the problem with independent testing, you have to hope that people did a baseline run with just the catback and then go back under similar conditions with the downpipes. You have to hope they used the exact same dyno, the same wheel/tire package, the same air pressures in the tires, corrected for ambients, etc, etc. I'm sure it will take time to get those results. For what it's worth, sbh tuned may be one of the first to do this on the S4 which is 3.5 years old. If anyone wants to donate the money to me for the RS4 I promise i'll do back to back dyno tests on everything

Default You can get custom headers, but that's alot of cash and the RS4 uses slightly improved....

headers already.

Default I'm getting there...

Planning on DP's by the end of next month. We'll redo the CB only baseline and then with DP's due to the mileage I've *finally* put on the car.

Default Sounds like the way to go from my experience.

I have not dynoed my car since the exhaust work. I have the full Milltek system, valved but no resonators. At Lime Rock at least a dozen people (both spectators and other drivers in my run group who I passed) have sought me out in the paddock to comment on the awesome sound under load at full throttle, yet the system is docile enough around town and on the highway.

I feel like I have more power to go with the intangible benefits of the better sound.

Default S4 dyno's don't tell us anything in regards to the RS4...

the rumor has been that DP's on the RS4 do nothing but change the sound of the car.

I don't know if there is any truth to it though.

It's possible that Audi got the DP's right on the RS4 and there is no more power to get from an aftermarket set up.

The Milltek DP's have been out since last year and no dyno's from anyone showing that they do anything at all.

Default It should tell us a lot. Audi uses the same 4 cats on the RS4...

and downpipes kill 2 of the 4 cats and replace the others with high flow units. The piping of the downpipes is almost irrelevant, it's the replacement and deletion of the cats of which the car has 4 of the 600cpsi units.

Default I understand the logic, but I still don't think it applies here...

Milltek makes a system for the S4 and RS4, we've seen the DP's on the S4 actually create power, the same can't be said for the RS4.

We are all waiting to be proven wrong.
