right now which is 3.5 years later. Just becuase no one took on the burden of privately dyno testing their car both baseline, with catback, and with downpipes and catback doesnt mean the gains arent there. We waited forever for that but always knew the gains are there using logic. I suspect alot of folks are just "supposing" the gains are minimal because they dont plan on getting downpipes due to warranty so would feel better if the gains werent there. Heck, there was a guy on the RS4 board who was trying to say they will only net uppper hp gains and reduce torque. We all know that is BS. Will be great to see Der Kimbo's results next month. I hope you all see some nice gains. It just makes no sense that you remove 2 cats and replace 2 others with high flow units and not see a gain. The S4 and RS4 downpipes are VERY similar.

catback. They stated the testing in Europe conservatively estimates a max of around 5% gains with the catback and an ADDITIONAL 5-8% gains with the downpips.
He stated the primary increase they saw was in torque with a new much higher torque peak seen 1700rpm sooner than on the catback car.

but nothing for the DP's.
But for the S4 they list both?

These were confirmed later by independant testing, but at least the claims were there initially. On the RS4, there aren't even any manufacturer claims about the power gains. That is what makes me skeptical.

From 2K to 4K rpm there is a 25 lb-ft increase, or about 10%. Compared to Kimbo's early dyno on non-res millteks, that's about a 5 lb-ft gain. Above 4K I did not have a good dyno run, due to the intake valve being shut down by the ECU. This is starving the intake air flow above 4500 rpm, and suppressing the manifold power peak.
BTW, the suppression of the peak due to the intake flap was verified prior to the Milltek install, and has been verified with some Vag-com testing. I am currently waiting for information from Audi to come back regarding to the operation of the flap.

as per their UK dyno testing. That is a 5-8% increase OVER the 5% they claim for the catback.

I just drove to FL with my Dad (67) from Virgina, and back. (even diverted to drive the Tail of the Dragon)
non-res with downpipes are just fine, even for long distance driving. Dad loves the sound. Says it sounds like the old P38 with Twin Allison engines that he flew in WWII. There's a drone at 2K if you lug the engine, but generally who does that with an RS4?
Even fuel mileage has been better. I'm getting 20.5 mpg cruising at 80 mph and 25 mpg at 65 mph
