04 Cobra vs. Me today (kill story-grab a cup of joe and a doughnut)
So I was minding my business this morning.
Just cruising down Highland south of Hollywood listening to Nirvana Unplugged when suddenly a 04'ish Mustang SVT pulls up next me, looks then takes off down the right lane of a 3 lane road. I put up my windows. Go into Stealth mode and follow him.
I assume he sees me barreling down on him as he looks into his rear view. He gets over to the middle lane to allow me to pull up to the line.
I turn up Wall of FIre, I press two for my seat memory which is bucket mode vs. setting one which is lean back as far as i can with out falling into the back seats aka cruising mode.
I see the light go yellow for the cross traffic. I blip and he revs HARD.
Light goes green UP to 4 grand....
Slowly release and drop the clutch around 2500 and BOOM.....
Off like a bat out of hell. I kill the guy on the launch. shifting right before red into second I am about a car and half ahead of him. As I was pulling into third I had to lay down the brakes as I was now entering the Hell of Los Angeles Morning Rush Hour.
Best of all. Mr. American Muscle pulls next to me. I turn down the radio. He says and I quote " Damn I thought I was faster then those audi's"....
I say and I quote "Not today my friend"
As my windows are going back up i hear him say....(and once again i quote)
"Its those four wheels (and i thought he must of been talking about the 19" RS4 Reps ).....Traction, traction, traction...."
I turn on San Vincente and turn Nirvana back up and enjoy sitting in traffic for the next 35 mins.

And by the way. Racing on the street is bad. bad. bad bad. bad.

Nice, the superiority of our car over the 390HP Mustang is even more apparent at the track
Our stock suspension just kills the Cobra in the corners. They may have more power but we can carry much more speed into and out of a corner (and I'm not even a good driver)

Other then wheels and tint, unfortunately yes for now...
Girlfriend moving in, Moving to a bigger place and getting a new job has put a hold on my need to mod my car....

Sounds impressive. I got schooled by a Cobra when my car was stock.
Don't think I would have been able to take him from a start even with the extra help...
But the track...hehehe...if done right, we can school vipers...cobras are cake. ;-)
