Default '04 S4 w/Revo Tune, random misfire (cyls 1 and 3 only)

Can't seem to shake these misfire codes:

16684/P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
16685/P0301 Cyl.1 Misfire Detected
16687/P0303 Cyl.3 Misfire Detected

I took my car in with zero mods (and zero codes). Had JHM piggie pipes and a Magnaflow catback installed, then had the Revo tune done a few days later. Threw all kinds of codes. I have just replaced all the plugs, all the coil packs, and the fuel filter, and the codes are still there. Only things I can think of are:

1. Compression test
2. swap 2 known good injectors with the injectors for clys 1 and 3

anything else I should be looking for? I'm new to Audis so be gentle! ;-) Thanks!

If I were you, before I spent anymore money troubleshooting I would put my ECU back to stock and see if the problems go away.

So I went to have the ECU set back to stock last Tuesday and damned if the car didn't start to die on the way there. Tuner was closed, so I limped the car to my mechanic. Felt like it lost a ton of power. He just called and basically there is little to no compression in 2 cyls. They didn't tear the motor down all the way to find out exactly why; he is telling me it would probably be more cost effective to find a used motor. I'm SO mad..only had it about 3 months and I never abused it, but I guess I can't speak for what the previous owner did. So now I have to decide if it really IS cheaper to source a used longblock or have a shop tear it down just to tell me I need a new one.

I'm very sorry to hear that, there is nothing worse then buying a car and having this sort of thing happen. Click the link for more info about compression issues.
