Default 2004 S4, 27K miles -- I smell burnt oil every once in a while

Does anyone else get this? I'd say 1 every 5 times I park the car in the garage I get a whiff of what smells like something is burning (oil). I see no smoke. When I open the hood, I see nothing. There is no oil beneath my car in the garage.

What do you think? Small gasket leak allowing a little bit of oil to get into a cylinder? I check the oil often and the level has not really moved.

I have the certified warranty. Should I just take it in? They might not be able to recreate the smell so it might be a waste of time.

Thanks. So, at the risk of sounding too obvious, should I take it in....like now?

Default It's pretty normal for every engine to have some seepage over time. You can take

a look around the engine and look at the seal around the edges, you'll probably notice oil spots but wet.

If you notice a lot of oil around the edges, like running or slow drip, probably want to replace it now. Just keep an eye on it.

Default Check the seal at the rear edge of the engine compartment

Ensure it's seated correctly. If it isn't, it'll let oil fumes into the "fresh air intake" for the hvac system.

BTDT.

Default Follow-up: Took it to the Audi Dealership this morning (car is certified)

They found that the cam cover gasket was allowing oil to drip down into the exhaust. Part is being overnighted. Thanks for the input.
