Default 2005 s4 misfire issue p0301

So I got the flashing check engine light and vibrations. The code reader shows p0301 and I'm thinking of changing the spark plug/coil of cylinder 1 (which the code reader is pointing to).

What do you guys think I should do?

and has anyone else have had this problem? if so, how bad was the vibrations?

Default Misfire Code

Don't go and change the coil right away. First, make sure you have the right firing order. Passenger side #1 is the very front. Examine the plug. May be due for a plug change. Check the gap. If the gap is too wide, then it gets replaced regardless of the burn pattern.

If a new plug doesn't help, swap coils with the next cylinder. If you have a cyl 2 misfire, it's the coil. If it's still #1, then you either have a wiring problem between the coil and the ECU, a fuel injector issue, or a dead hole. When you do the plug, run a compression check.

Injector and coil connectors have issues. Get a wiring diagram. One wire to your coil or injector will have 12v with the ignition on. The other wire will have a grounding pulse at the injector. The coil is a little more complex. There may be 2 grounding wires that are grounded in the ECU. Go from there.

Default I got the same problem

It happens when my car gets to 106-111 degrees. Its fine until then, I changed the coil packs and spark plugs no luck.

I heard it could be these things.
1. Fuel Filter
2. Fuel Injectors
3. MAF sensor
4. Coil packs
5. Spark Plugs
6. Vaccum Leak
7. Head Gasket
8. Intake manifold Gasket - after 30 minutes when it gets warm it leaks kind sounds like my problem but dont know how to test it.
9. Computer Update for my car.
10. Timing chain

So Its like really it could be anyone of those! So I bought a ross-tech cable since thats the only thing that can read the computer in non basic mode that doesnt cost 10k. Just FYI all you need is the hex/cam cable. Then I drove it around till it got to 106 temp then it started to do the shaking at idol/misfire it was a avergage of 5-6 for the MAF sensor sometimes going to 9-15 but not often. Maybe its the MAF im not a mechanic I have no clue. I have no idea what I am doing I am a computer programmer not a mechanic does anyone see anything wrong?

this is was ross tech says for faults

I had the same nagging issue , I did replace all 8 spark plugs and coil packs at the same time and its been running fine ever since. I currently have 151k miles on my 2004.
When 1 coil pack goes bad the others are not far behind. Just my 0.02.

Hi This is Terry, I am having exactly the fault code as yours... I am driving an 05 audi B7 S4

... got the fault code of P0301 only and nothing else even after changing the coil packs, spark plugs, test the fuel injector and checking the wire and the intake leak, but the fault code is still on.. misfire of the cylinder 1 only. My garage is checking on the cam sensor but i really doubt....

Whats your advise on that and how you get it fixed? thanks

I am driving an audi S4 b7 V8 and had fault code of misfire, p0300 , p0301 , I have checked and swapped the coil pack to other bank but the code still there and its still p0301. I have to put on another fuel injector but no good. Then I changed all the spark plugs but still the same.

I found the misfire will gone if in High rpm but exist on idling.

before I found there was a hose losing from the intake maniford, I took the maniford out and mounted it on....before there are P0302, p0303 , p0304 cide, but after i fixed the hose from the intake maniford, they all gone but except the P0301 never gone. I checked on the compression of the cylinder one but it seems normal.
