That won't happen, why put R&D money into an older platform? We should be glad for the little we have from PES and VF. But I am going to go the lightweight route first...forged wheels, alcons, DP's and exhaust and GIAC....I estimate saving close to 60 or so pounds of weight, losing weight or adding HP....same thing except no torque gains of course. Losing weight at wheels is really good for unsprung weight and less rolling and turning inertia.
wow...you guys are missing out on a lot. Why not come see what's really up with the platform and get out from under this rock!

Well said bro.

Yet...when they are run down a quarter mile track they're performaing exactly like 420 crank hp RS4s...which weigh 100 lbs more than the MT6 S4. I can only assume that Joey is correct...go read that thread he linked for a real eye-opener.

Further, JHM modified cars are running the same quarter mile times as the supercharged VF and PES cars. Does that mean JHM's bolt on parts are making the S4 a 500hp killer? Not likely. It means that JHM's bolt ons are delivering about the same power as the supercharger kit (i.e. 2.5" downpipes/2.5" Fast Intentions catback/JHM tune and a few lightweight bits like rotors and crank pulley.

Save your money.

Ok...so my numbers are in. But before I get to them, my car is absolutely incredible with the Supercharger. It feels like this is how the car should have been designed in the first place. You must test drive a 4.2 s4 car with the SC and see for yourself! Give the guys at 303 motorsports a call, they did a fantastic job! Anyway, please note that all of my numbers were taken on a conservative dyno at about 5600ft in elevation. So there is about a 15% loss right off the bat...take another 24% loss from crank to whp and here we go:

All tested with 91 octane crappy Colorado gas.

Before SC:
217 WHP
286 HP

After PES STAGE 1 SC
288 WHP
360 HP

That a 71 HP increase at the wheels.

So, if you adjust +/-15% for altitude
Thats
331 WHP at Sea Level
414 HP at Sea Level

Other Factors:
Cleaned the carbon out (Thanks to the crappy 91 octane gas here in Colorado)
Mileage = 80,000
Other mod = Catback AWE exhaust

Do you have any 1/4 times for the car? You should share your information here...

www.euroaddiction.net

We have a lot of talk on superchargers and it would make for some more good conversations.

I'm more of a backroad touring driver, 1/4 mile is not too important to me. If it was I'd go back to bikes or get a GT500 Shelby. Which I may do anyhow or get a Z28 Camaro if they make it. I can get a blower on my 05 B6,or just get new one from the factory with 4 years warranty. Or wait 2 years and get a CTS-V used.

good stuff

you should do some pulls with some bolt on S4s in your area to see the gains overly lightly modded cars. Try johnnyalqaeda in colorado springs...he has a full exhaust and will have a JHM tune soon.

p.s. did they ice down the manifold when they did your dyno runs?

You guys really should have done a little more homework on this supercharger business. JHM is cooking up a supercharger kit for the B6/7 and I have only seen good things from JHM. I have been going the light weight route as well and it seems cheaper and more beneficial in my opinion.
