So I am about to bite the bullet on a 2006 S4 Avant. I have been reading here that $500 to $1,000 above invoice is a good deal. However, Beverly Hills Audi is telling me that the Avant is so rare, that they don't sell them for below sticker price. What gives? Is that true? What price should I insist on?
If it makes any difference, I am getting the following:
2006 S4 4.2 AVANT 4-DR AUTO QUATTRO
MANUAL SIDE SUNSHADES
CARBON FIBER BELT LINE TRIM
REAR PARKTRONIC
SILK NAPPA LEATHER
AUDI DVD NAVIGATION SYSTEM
PREMIUM AUDIO PKG - SIRIUS / BLUETOOTH
PREMIUM PACKAGE

I live in Sherman Oaks however went down to Santa Ana (Commonwealth Audi) to get my '06 S4 at $500 over invoice.
Keyes Audi, The Auto Gallery, Rusnak, Pacific Audi, Circle Audi, Audi of Santa Monica. Shop around, unless you have a contact at BH, go somewhere else.

I heard it's something like 10 to 1. You gotta work hard enought just to find the one you want.. I ended up having to order mine, since I cant deal with fiber. I checked around, and only a few places had allocation to make it happen. and by a few, I mean one. But that was in the 05.5 rush. who knows what it's like now.

but also not in that much demand - not enough to command a premium as a new Z06 or M5 would. $500 over invoice sounds like a good starting point.

Nice car. I got the exact same one in early December in Sacramento. I paid $52,800+ tax which was about 1K over invoice. The only options mine doesn't have is bluetooth, steering wheel option and parking sensors. $500 over invoice this early in the year is pretty good. You did well. How fast have you driven it? I got mine up to 150 when I was racing an M3 near the Grapevine. If he was a better driver he would have given me a run for my money, but he couldn't hang.
