Are 99% of sidewall bulges always caused by road hazard?

between inner casing and sidewall rubber. It's not the kind of thing that's caused by hitting potholes, but indicates a material defect in the manufacturing process.
If everytime people hit a pothole in their cars a tire sidewall bubbled, there would be millions of incidences. There aren't.
Like I said, I have had a couple bubbled sidewalls in the past without ever hitting squat. Likewise, many times I have hit major potholes without any problem developing in sidewall. More worried about alignment after something like that.

have been so traumatic. I spent some time cleaning the car Wed afternoon, and it wasn't there when I put the tire dressing on. The next day there it was, although it isn't large, it is noticeable.
