New here! Nice forum. Own a 1983 UrQ with a 20VT 3B motor in it and have owned a few Audis over the years, though none as a daily driver since I sold my 1991 V8 Q in 2007. Thinking about buying a 2004 S4 Avant with about 67K miles (110,000 km) north of Toronto, Canada. It has Tiptronic, which I am not the biggest fan of, but my wife can't drive a manual shift so I figure I am better off with an automatic S4 than no S4.

What should I be looking out for on these cars?
The used car dealer (deals in a lot of audis) has access to Audi dealer service records up to 80K (50K miles), but what's in between is a mystery.

Any advice is appreciated.

where do u live? I'd buy a later year S4 as the 04's had engine problems - even if u could find a 2005.5 you're in better shape.
