I noticed that rear view mirror is not attached to the actual car frame, it seems to be attached to the windshield.
When replacing windshield I assume the window place will re-attach the mirror?
Just wanted to hear some feedback from people who had windshield replaced.
Thanks

I am not even sure what glass brand the window places uses. I will try to find out.
I am from Boston, MA and in MA front windshield replacement is free. I have couple of cracks in the window.
You mentioned they will re-attach the mirror, I assume it just a stick on type holder for the mirror?
Thanks

Hey thanks a lot for the heads up.
I went to take a look at the car now, but I can't seem to see the metal clip on my windshield now?
I see a large round, what looks like stick on suction cup.
I have the mirror with compass, maybe S4 comes with other mirror types?
Thanks

Your replacement glass will have it attached. The glass person will have to remove your mirror and then replace it on the new glass...1 minute job. Check out the link for more.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/int36.shtml</a
