Adding Oil. The manual says you can add mineral or synthetic?? Is that true?

Adding Oil. The manual says you can add mineral or synthetic?? Is that true?
I just checked my oil, and it looks like I need to add some. Do our cars come with synthetic? It says in the manual you can add synthetic or mineral, and also 5w-30 if you don't have 0w-30 laying around (who does). So I was going to use some mineral based 5w-30 I have laying around. Bad idea?

There is no problem mixing mineral with synthetic. BUT
it is better to the same type. If you still have the original factory oil, I would use mineral, but it is not critical.
