Alan L could you show me how you hardwired v1?
I tried this, but it didn't work. BTW, I got my S4 earlier than I expected.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/219474.phtml</a

Being lazy, I used a piggyback fuse holder as shown in this picture

In this case, I borrowed some juice from the #37 fuse (windshield washer electronics) to power the V1. I added a second 25A fuse to match the original and just shoved it in. This is a switched circuit which is only on when the ignition is on so you don't run down the battery.

Being even lazier..
I listened to the advice of another on here (sorry, don't remember who) and simply wrapped the power wire around one prong of the #37 fuse and pushed it back in. Works like a charm.

Don't have my S4 yet, but have a question for you.
Where is the fuse box located? If it is in the engine bay, where was the grommet or access through the fire wall located?
Thanks for any help.

fuse box is easily accessible. it is on the right side of the dash.
hidden by a cover that "pop" off. there are 3, i thnk, clips that hold it in place. there is a little slot that the end of your key fits in that allows you to pop out one clip...then just move your hands up and get the others
piece of cake.
piece of cake.
