Am I missing a part? Just checked my pre-filter and there was none

The wire clips are in the "accordian" piece between part 5 and part 6
The pre-filter is at the other end of part 6.
Part 6 has to be pulled out to get to it.
I originally thought from looking at the diagram that the pre-filter should be in the accordian piece, and almost gave up when I didn't find it.
But I continued and pulled out part 6, which took quite a bit of force, and the pre-filter was there.
In hindsight the diagram is consistent with the pre-filter being in its correct position in the (hiddden) vertical part of part 6. Its just not very clear.
