ambient temperature reads about 5F too high...

Just got the car. Ambient temperature reads about 5F too high. How can this be corrected? New sensor? Can it be tweaked with VAG-COM?
(Have an old B5 A4 also, and it's temperature has always been very accurate).

I agree that the engine is producing a lot of heat, but if it's like my A4, the sensor is in front of the radiator and it should be exposed to the incoming air flow during normal driving conditions. I'd expect that incoming from to dominate the temperature over any radiation from the engine.
I'm wondering if anyone has had success in fixing this by replacing the sensor or some other technique?
