Default Anyone add PhatBox to their new S4?...

I tried, without success. Since the PhatBox operates as a CD changer (press CD button on head unit to control) I was worried that adding it would cause me to lose the ability to use the in-dash CD changer. Audi assured me that that was not the case - they said the head unit supported multiple CD changers and told me they offer trunk and glove-box changers to add to the radio. I took them at their word and told them I'd be pissed if they ripped apart my car and it did not work. So they ripped apart my car - and it did not work - but for a different reason (this is where I suspect that they don't know what the f*#k they're doing). They called me and said the PhatBox plugs in the sat radio input so it was sat radio or PhatBox. I asked why they couldn't connect it to the input for the alternate CD changer (which makes more sense, since the PhatBox is essentially a CD changer), and they said the PhatBox connecter didn't fit in the extra CD changer input. I suspect that Audi either has the wrong cable or is missing some kind of adapter. Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

Default

I suspect you can have both but the "factory" wire job can only handle 1 w/o addtional cables

Default You are correct....

They are morons.

A. Is the phatbox new? Or from another car? If its older you will probably need an adapter.

B. Find someone else to do the work, or do it yourself. Sounds like they dont know there *** from an electrical system and thats just asking for trouble

Default It's a new PhatBox...

If you can connect it to the radio as an additional CD changer, how do you select between the in-dash CD changer and the PhatBox (with the radio only having one "CD" button)?
