Default anyone have a problem trading out of a leased Audi?

I am trying to convince my wife to get another A4, but the new ones are the same interior wise.
We approached another dealer today who said Audi could charge them whatever they wanted to buy the car. We are 6 months away from her lease end. Anyone with the experience of trading out before lease end?

Default Find a different dealer/sales person

Audi Financial can be jerks sometimes but usually the dealer can get you out of your lease early if you are buying a new Audi.

Post on your regional forum and ask someone for a referral to a good salesperson.

Default ^^ The only dealership I can find that is willing to deal with AFS is an Audi Dealer.

Most deals I have had for non-Audi cars left me dealing with AFS on my own, and I only have 2 payments remaining.

Sounds as if your current buyout puts you upside down and the dealer just doesn't want to bother with it.

Default Mistated the problem....it is a non audi dealer we went to..

said Audi FS would be difficult to buy the car from at her current buyout figure. He said they would tack on whatever they wanted

Default True then. AFS has a buyout for you and a higher buyout for anyone else.

If you are looking to trade an AFS leased vehicle to a non-Audi dealer, they will make it very difficult.

Default It is a nightmare. However it is actually advatageous to do it BEFORE the last 90 days of the lease

Because then it goes to Audi lease and dept. They are completely incompetent. Plus they then want to sell at RETAIL price.

I got my BMW dealer to call for a buyout before the 90 day period and got a figure for the dealer to buy my car at $28K. (I owed $26k ). When my ordered car came in we were then in the last 90 days of the lease and Lease end dept wanted $31+k for the dealer to buy it. That didn't fly. I could still buy it for the $26K + tax and fees which came to $28+k, which I did and sold to a private party for $31K, BUT the process took about 2 months until I got a title because I decided to finance the purchase through AFS for 1 month until the private sale went through. HUGE PIA , unless you live in CA where the transfer rules are very streamlined . No tax if you resell the car in 15 days.

Default yup

See if you can find what you like at an Audi dealer. They have some leverage with Audi Financial but as DrGP points out, do it before the 90 day window.
