Finally, after more than twice as long as i expected, i sucessfully installed a Strat Short Shifter.
I have to say, it was one of the most frustrating and annoying installs i have ever done. The gear linkage bolt reinstallation was a nightmare.
After a nice saturday in the garage, i have a much improved gear box thanks to the new short shifter.
I highly reccommend picking one up but would consider having it professionally installed or a good chunck of a day to waste installing it.

Getting the ashtray back in was the most frustrating and time consuming part on my end...it was just one of those things where you don't remember how you pulled it out, and in what angle, to make the slots for the bolts to line up again, etc.
Anyway, with an extra set of hands, the actual install was at most an hour IIRC.
