In many states police can not break traffic laws unless they have their lights an sirens on as a safety factor for other motorists. A good lawyer can rip apart the old "pacing" method.

Don't fool yourself into thinking X was ever "off" in NJ. They have alway used it heavily and still do.
They didn't "figure out" that the vast minority of people turn off X on their radar detects so they decided to start using it again...be realistic.

Have done 164 in a 55, and 160 in a 55 with the S4, haven't had a ticket yet for that and don't use any detectors. Always get my tickets in town for 10-12 over posted speeds every few years so the points don't go on my insurance. Almost had one the other day, first at light turning left, when green floored it got into fourth at around 55-60 in a 45 noticed the gold crown vic behind me and the black mirror covers (here means unmarked police which it was) had slowed to 48 by then so he went by after punching my plate into his computer, looked and went on with a black sticker on his trunk lid which said police package on it. Now they are using digital laser cameras which can take a pic every half second in heavy traffic and get everyone! $50 a pop with a letter and 2pics but don't get points on insurance. Its mounted in an unmarked small white trailer, very mobile unlike the intersection cameras which are fixed.

there is no justice in this world...that is after the judge showed up two hours late and performed three weddings first. I hate Elizabeth NJ.
