Default APC and Check engine light on

Anyone have the apc light and the check engine light come on and power greatly reduced? if so, any insight into what it could be?

Default Yup.

It means there's something wrong with the drive by wire system (AKA EPC). My car was nearly lemoned over EPC problems.

Can you give me some more detailed info on it? I actually bought my car certified pre owned, have driven about 4k miles since and this just happened. How did they fix the problem?

Default It could be something simple....

Since the CEL is on, a fault code has been logged. In my case the problem looked to be with the TPS (throttle position sensor, aka the gas pedal), but ended up being a defective wire in the harness from the TPS to the EPC.

most of the cars we get in the shop have faulty EPC units, but it could be as simple as a bad connection or wire. If you get me a code from the ECM I can help further.
