Default No one knows for sure if a tip will hold up. But I don't see why not...

There are kits available for Corvettes, Mustangs, etc. None of the transmisions for those cars were designed for the power the engine makes with a SC thrown on it, especially not the automatics. But they survive just fine.

I wouldn't do it. The RS4 doesn't come with a tip.

Default I seriously doubt that it's because the 15lb-ft increase in torque...

Transmissions are usually rated by their torque capacity.

When a manufacturer religates their most serious performance car to manual only it is because:
1. An automatic transmission is rarely the transmission of choice for the prospective buyer of this car.
2. An automatic transmission will not allow the vehicle to perform at it's full potential.
3. There's typically a weight savings by using a manual instead of an automatic.

These are the reasons the RS4 will not be available with an auto.

Default I wasn't connecting the two items together.

I don't believe the S4 automatic could handle the high RPM of the RS4 motor. This is why I believe the "reflash" lowered the shift point on the Tip transmission.
