I was in my co-workers B7 last week and he has Nav+. I'll be pickin up my B6 next week but it does not have Nav. I was wondering about the possibility of adding the Nav+ unit to my car.

Some of my friends have done it, it works well BUT you lose the 6 disc cd changer on the deck. Since the nav plus has only a dvd slot, you'll need to purchase a cd changer for your trunk or glovebox, which eliminates the convinience of a dashboard changer, especially if you use CDs a lot. It can be quite a pain in the butt to change CDs in the glovebox or trunk. In my opinion, the nav plus isnt a great mod, you'll be spending around 4 grand after alls said and done. If you already have Nav, dont bother.

You have to get the required adapters, antennas, tools, etc. and have to have a Symphony II HU to start with. It takes longer if you want to add or have to update other components, i.e. sat receiver, CD changer or so. But read the discussions on navplus.us before you make a decision.

But honestly, the 2 SD card slots give you up to 4GB space for MP3s which is plenty of space. I was thinking about this too but since I could easily fit the 6 CDs I had in my Symphony II on a 1GB SD card, this was a no issue. As a plus, you get the song title and more if you use the SD cards and IMHO the changer would only be a waste of space in the glovebox. If you really want to listen to a new CD you just got, you can play it in the DVD drive (no navigation at the same time though). And without the changer there is the option to connect your iPod or pbox, something tricky if you got the changer by default.

I saw that a few of the local stores are selling major brand HU with DVD Nav systems. Prices will be better then the Nav Plus system. I will see in time, right now I use the map in the glove box (it uses less room then the CD player)
