Default Audi service?

I was wondering if all the dealers don't give out a rental car when you drop your car off for service? They just tell you to wait 2 hours at the dealer? Is this true or is it just in my area? I mean, when I had a TLs they gave me RSX and TSX and when I drop off my H2, they give me this GM SUV and their service only takes about hour and a half. I checked 4 dealers and they all said you just have to wait?

Default You can get a loaner from most dealers if you arrange it in advance. BUT

It is ususally not an Audi and generally a POS.

Default Variable. No guaranteed loaner unless you have an A8 or RS6.

My dealer has been nice enough to provide me w/ a loaner each time though, usually an A4, Mini, or C class.

I assume RS4 would receive such a perk?

Default I don't think that's true.

I am pretty sure that Audi requires dealers to provide loaners to their customers regardless. Your dealer may be feeding you some crap, but I don't think they are keeping up their contract with Audi. I get a loaner on my out of warranty allroad that I bought used elsewhere. I may not get an Audi to drive, and I need to give them notice to be sure they have a car, but if I am going to pay them $90 an hour in labor, I better get a car to drive.

Call AOA and complain.

Default My dealer has been good about it, but others experiences have not been as good.

I always got loaners from this dealer even w/ my B5 S4 that I bought elsewhere. They're treating me as well, of course, w/ the B7 I bought from them. If they didn't, I would complain.

Default I think I have been really fortunate with a good dealer...

because I hear so many bad stories. Its too bad too, because the dealer service really helps (or slaughters) the overall brand image. All cars can have problems, its how you deal with them that makes the difference.

Default Now THAT's good dealer service. :)

I should ask for a Boxster at least as my dad and I have bought an E500 4matic and the S4 from this same dealer in the past 6 months.

Default Re: Audi service?

I get another Audi for a loaner when I drop it off for any service. I make sure to arrange that ahead of time when I sign on the car. I don't buy from a dealer that won't give me a loaner for every service visit.

My new Audi is arriving at Audi of Huntingdon Valley in PA. I have done business with them for years and they are excellent. Other dealers in the area (nameless for now) are not as service oriented.

Thompson BMW of Doylestown gives me a loaner BMW (I have a 330ci right now, as my car will be in for the weekend) and also will valet my car (pick up my car at my house or office, drop off a loaner, and return it completed), if I desire. Their service is outstanding as well. One of the reasons I have a Z4 and not a Boxster S (which I think handles better) is that the local Porsche dealer has abysmal customer service.

Service is one of the big reasons I no longer drive American iron.
