Default Audi Tip Issues

As many of us S4 tip owners have found out, the tip trans shifts at 6800 RPM (or lower) in every mode. (Mine actually shifts at 6300 RPM) This causes the tip cars to underperform, since the S4's V8 is designed with peak horsepower at 7000 RPM. Several of us have called AoA about this, but AoA has so far refused to take this issue seriously. We have put together a website to increase awareness of this issue. We encourage everybody with a tip trans S4 to check out the http://www.auditipissues.com/ website. We want Audi to change the shiftpoint on the tip cars to be 7000 RPM instead of 6800 RPM, so we can actually see the advertised performance of the V8. FYI, the manual S4 cars have a 7200 RPM rev limiter, so the guys with manuals can already get the peak power from the S4. Anyway, check out the site if you have a tip car. Thanks.<ul><li><a href="http://www.auditipissues.com/">Audi Tip Issues</a></li></ul>

Default so you are telling me that a FLASHED tip, will have more power, but

it will still shift at 6800?
Is there then even a point to get flash for tip.
Is there a point to get any performance mods for the tip people? Since it will be capped at 6800?

Default flashing the ecu only affects the engine

All of the ECU flashes and chips that are available are only able to change engine parameters such as fueliar ratio, ignition timing, etc. The tip trans code is stored in the TCU. Flashing the ECU does not affect the TCU module. There is no mod to get the tip S4 cars to shift above 6800 RPM. And since most performance mods available for the S4 are designed to build more power at high RPM, there is little to no sense in buying any of those mods for the tip cars at this time. The tip S4 cars will shift at 6800 RPM in all modes (drive, sport, tip).

Some S4 tip cars will shift at 7000 RPM. Mine was one of them when it was new. At the 5k maintainance, Audi "fixed" that because my car was outside of their "spec". Now my car shifts at 6300 RPM from 1st to 2nd and then 6800 RPM after that. Needless to say, my S4 was noticably faster back when it shifted at 7000 RPM. All I am asking is for Audi to reflash my TCU with updated code that lets me shift at 7000 RPM at WOT.<ul><li><a href="http://www.auditipissues.com/">http://www.auditipissues.com/</a></li></ul>

Default thanks :)

I would appreciate help getting the word out. We need about a hundred 2004/2005 S4 tip owners to tap Audi about the issues with the tip trans shifting before the engine hits peak power. So far, only a handful of us have contacted AoA. We need to increase awareness by explaining the issue to all of the tip owners out there and asking them to add their voice.

Default do you know if '05 have a diff TCU code then '04?

on another note, i know that on the BMW side, dinan offers transmissions software upgrades, so it sucks that no tuner on the audi side offers it yet.
