Default auto shipping reccomendations semi OT

My dad is giving me his original owner 87 Buick T Type (GN)and I need it picked up in Slidell, LA and brought to CT where it will live in the garage next to my S4

Does anyone have experience or have you seen people talking about reputable companies that can get it done safe and quick - I need it here by next Weds - my 40th Bday.....

Horseless Carriage -- They did my Lotus for me and they do all new Ferarri's from port to dealer.

I shipped my S4 through Springle Transport Service from NJ to Pensacola. Don't remember the exact amount, but it was around $1k for an enclosed trailer. It is a small outfit, but the owner Bill Springle will probably drive the truck himeself. Very courteous, and you can call him on his cellphone on the road to keep track of the progress of your car. I don't think you are going to get an enclosed trailer for under a grand considering the distance and gas prices. Here is the website: www.stscars.com.

Default Dependable Auto Shippers.

I have used them twice and my friend once. All are cross country and had good experiences with them. However, like anything, there are also negative stories about them.

Horseless or Passport are the only two I have dealt with. Both are great BUT expensive.

I CAN tell you that there are a LOT of bad companies out there. Fly by night operations that change names when they damage too many cars. I did a TON of research on this when I bought mine and decided to drive it from NM to MN instead.
