AWE Exhaust
I had a chance to see/hear the AWE exhaust yesterday at the S4 shootout. Of all the different exhaust combinations I heard at the shootout, this was clearly my favorite! The best way I can describe it is deep, assertive, but never obnoxious in the least. The car never quite takes on the sound of detroit muscle, instead it's something more refined. How / why does the exhaust make more HP then the downpipes?
Besides the fact that it is more free flow and "all that"
What I am really asking maybe a design differencce. Seems as though the real gains on "most" of the other systems comes only when the DP are installed.
I see a lot of posts where people ask "it is worth it for the sound, noticeable difference but not that much" you have to get the dp....

That's my car getting the DPs and Non-Res Cat Back installed yesterday...some first impressions
As Raj said it sounds AWESOME! By far my favorite sounding setup...I've put over 150 miles on it since yesterday's install and I'm grinning ear-to-ear everytime I floor it! The guys at AWE did an amazing job getting it installed and on short notice too!
The sound has plenty of grunt and a great burbble at idle. No droning on the highway and definitely added power and throttle response seems sharper as well.
Full write up later...plus some sound/video clips!

Yeah, I was blown away...funny thing is I must look like a nut while driving around...
...I'm still grinning like a little kid! I'm constantly looking for any chance to hit the throttle.
