B6 RS4 might get a NA V8 good for 450 HP!!

BS
If you would have done your research you would have figured out that only a few engines from a certain production blew up. it wasnt a design problem with the engine they just got some foreign particles in there. You should consider that BMW puts out 343hp from an in line six and audi can't even match that with a 4.2 V8.

That's the whole point!
Read back thru the thread. CBerten states that BMW is getting 343 from an I6 and. You come back with Audi getting 360hp out of the 4.2. I replied pointing out that BMW is getting >100hp/liter out of the I6 which clearly Audi isn't doing with the 4.2 (otherwise there'd be a 420hp 4.2 somewhere in an Audi right?). And now you are pointing out that Honda gets 120hp/liter which doesn't really support your claim that the 4.2 is better than an M powerplant.
None of this really matters since all 3 engines have a widely different character, it's not just about peak hp figures.

Dude..you missed my entire point. I brought up the 360hp 4.2 because
CBerton said that Audi was only getting 340 out of the 4.2, thats all.
"You should consider that BMW puts out 343hp from an in line six and audi can't even match that with a 4.2 V8."
Anyways, like you said, 3 totally different engines.

Whatever...they are all great engines.
BMW - high HP, low torque
S2000- rev-happy, screaming rocket, low torque
Audi - torquey, ample horsepower.
They are all great engines for great cars...but I've always loved the feel, power, and sound of the v8. Enough said, IMHO.

Thats the one! all Grrreat engines (well maybe not the S2k) but
I wouldnt say that the BMW makes low torque. 250+ isint that bad at all, and when it has 85% or more of peak torque from 2000-8000 RPM, thats pretty darn good...
The S4 pulls harder, the M3 pulls longer...
