Default the ferrari is purpose built ***** out SPORTS car...the audis are luxurious cruisers as well as...

good performers. i was saying that i could get a used b5 and the 308 for less the the price of an s4. that way ide have a ***** to the wall no compromises sports car with 8 cylinders buzzing to all hell behind my head and none of that electronic computer assisted saftey nonsense and have a gorgious german luxo car with the ability to carve up some corners at very high speeds... and by the way the true enthusiast's ferrari died with Enzo and the f40, so no new fangled paddle shifted air bag ridden ******* driven cars are going to compare...although if someone handed me a Modena i wouldnt complain

Default its probably a good time to pick one up...

29-40 grand for well kept models and you know how these things are you could turn around the next day and sell it to some dope for double the price.

Default Just watch a couple episodes of Magnum P.I. and get over it. ..

Seriously, the 1982 is probably one of the doggiest Ferraris ever made. The fuel injection wasn't sorted and the Quattrovalves were just around the corner, IIRC. The 328 is really the ticket in that body style and you can get rid of the horrid two-tone look.

Default Re: i know all of these cars pretty darn well...(long)

I have a new S4 and a '89 328. Both cars are major improvements on the predecessors. I would recomend buying the new s4 and saving for the 328. The 328 was the last of a breed (Ferrari has not built anything like it since). The 308 is a weak sister. If you buy a good 328 and maintain it, you should have it for a very long time. Many guys I know who own multiple Ferrari's hang on to their 328 even though they trade the other cars. If you can not purchase a new s4 and save for a 328, I would buy the used s4 and save for a 328. There is nothing like a Ferrari and they are timeless. You will want to eventually trade out of any S4 you buy.

Good luck,

Default Those mid-80s Ferraris can be a REAL problem...

My father's 348tb was a nightmare. Roughly $5000 a year in maintenance and repairs.

Default I have a B6 S4 and a 328 Both great cars. - more

I would buy the B6 and save for a 328. If that is not an option, I would buy a B5 and save for a 328. The 328 is the last of a breed and is something you will always enjoy. Make sure you know the history of the car. A well maintained car will reward you. A poorly maintained car will get expensive fast. They are expensive to own (parts are expensive) but easy to work on.

Default Yeah...it's not the car...it's the maintenance! Enjoy your B6!

I'm trading in my current B6 next year for an '05 B6 S4 -- and I'm sticking with the brilliant black.
