Default Yeah...I had lots of problems because of it....

Search for "TPS" or Throttle Position Sensor.

Default Are we talking about the same thing?

I'm trying to think of a car that doesn't have a TPS, but actually I was wondering if the B6 S4 has an computer controlled throttle, where the gas pedal is actually a potentiometer, instead of most cars that have the gas pedal pulling a cable. Maybe we're on the same wavelength, but I'm not sure

Are you already having problems on the B6?

Default As I succinctly answered ... YES, the B6 S4 is drive-by-wire (throttle-by-wire).

The B5 S4 was also DBW, as was the B5 A4 beginning MY 2000 (IIRC). B6 A4 is also DBW.

Actually, the gas pedal is connected to two potentiometers, one that increases in value and one that decreases in value as you push the pedal - redundancy for such an important function.
