Default B6 S4 Weight Confusion !?!

So I'm reading the new S4 brochure (Europe)
and see that the claimed MFR unladen weight
is 1660 kg = (3660 lbs). Then I recall that
the weight stated by Car & Driver is 3864 lbs
= (1753 kg) and begin to question who is right.
A little more research reveals that Auto Motor
& Sport says that the weight of the S4 is
1.74 tons (metric tonnes) which equals 3836 lbs.
or 1740 kg. Getting confused yet
And lastly, www.auto.t-online.de claims the
S4 is 1730 kg = (3814 lbs.)

In summary:

Weight Gurus__________/__lbs.__/__kg.

Audi AG______________/__3660__/__1660
Car & Driver__________/__3864__/__1753
Auto Motor & Sport____/__3836__/__1740
www.auto.t-online.de__/__3814__/__1730

Now keep in mind that these figures are for
the sedan and not the Avant. Audi claims the
Avant is 1720 kg = (3792 lbs.)

I'm not even going to get into the "Gross"
weight!

So, whatever the weight of the S4 "IS" is
not my issue. It's wishing for consistant and
accurate info. In this case, weight, which can't
be changed by opinion, only misinformation.

Someone double check my weight conversions

Default As in "unladen" weight per my first sentence...

The "unladen weight" of a vehicle is the weight equipped and ready for operation on the road including the body, fenders, oil in motor, radiator full of water, with five gallons of gasoline or equivalent weight of other motor fuel; also equipment required by law... bla, bla

Now this is how "unladen weight" is defined
in the U.S. I can only surmise that the weight
of the gas would be the only difference
(if somewhat small) compared to European
Standards of "unladen" weight.

Default helping out

This is daily business I'd say. Every company has a standard setting for equipment for the weight they put in their brochures. Mostly the standard equipment.

The higher weights from the magazins are because they weigh the cars with additional equipment like NAV, BOSE, SUNROOF, etc.

That's why ... just my 2 cents

Oh wait ... and fill it up ... I believe that in brochures the weight of the cars is without or just 25% fuel. But don't nail me on that one.
