Default B7 Avant Owners with dogs

Quick question:

Will a 75-80lb. labrador fit comfortably in the back of an Avant with the rear seats up? Putting the seats down is an option but not particularly safe for the dog in sudden stops!

Thanks.

Well I regularly put a St Bernard and a Lurcher (at the same time) in the back of mine. I have the Audi dog guard fitted above the rear of the back seats to stop them jumping through into the back! So your labrador wont be a problem.

Do you have an item number for this part or picture? Is it mesh or metal? My dog seems to push through the sides of any mesh guard I've ever used!

It hooks around the rear seat top catches and is held on with a couple of hand turned screw wheels. Really neat fit and no drilling required. Guard is metal with paint finish.

Default Yes, my 78# Dobie fits fine in the back with the seats up....

even with some other cargo such as an ice chest that takes up half the space, she is fine on trips up to 2-3 hours. with the seats folded down there is too much room.

Dont know the part number. Its not cheap either, in the UK it was a ?200 dealer extra when I bought the car, but it probably costs less in the US (most parts generally do!). Like yourself I found that some smaller dogs (particularly my lurcher) can simply squeeeze past the mesh net and my Saint Bernard would just destroy the mesh net simply by leaning on it! This is expensive but the fit and quality are superb as you would expect from Audi
