Default MPG for B6/B7 S4 comparable to rivals..

A BMW M3 or M-B C55 gets the same mpg results, so unless they make a hybrid, the mileage won't improve anytime soon. It isn't really fair to knock Audi on MPG results for a V8 sport sedan. That kind of power doesn't come for free.
Personally, I would have to stretch financially to afford an S4, and want to, but with the price of gas steadily rising, an S-line with a chipped 2.0T seems much more likely for me. I'd have to live with turbo lag, less power, and I would miss that beautiful V8 sound, so it's a tough decision...

One reason is that its sub-par. One example: a 400hp Corvette gets 26mpg hwy.

Default I easily get 28-30 mpg highway in my Z06, anywhere between 14-19 city

depending upon how heavy my foot is. I can't seem to get more than 15-16 in the S4 city even when babying it, and have never gotten more than 20 on the highway.

Default I got around 17 mpg in my C5 before I put on the supercharger

regardless of the gas mileage debate. there is a big difference in gas consumption between a 3,200 lb RWD car and a 3,800-3,900 lb AWD car.

it's the same damn engine, both cars will get mediocre gas mileage at best.

Default 20 gallons would be nice

then again, paying 60 dollars to fill up your car would suck.

Default I got 16mpg city and 21mpg highway with an e55 with more hp and more weight

one reason is because the e55 is turning less than 2k rpms at highway speeds
