been thinking about downgrading to a vdubb. MKIV R32 or MK5 gti??? thoughts?..

What's the price on the R32? They seem to hold their value better than any car in recent history.
Add an AWE S/C kit for <$5k and you'd have a great ride.
Then again, stock for stock, the GTI is just as quick and has a much better interior.

12k mi. on the car w/ 100k mi warranty.. asking 26k but I can prob get it down...
I agree on the GTI interior but the AWD, dual exhaust and sound of the vr6 are what temp me, plus the bucket racing seats fit like a glove.

Now that I have the S with a full milltek, the R doesn't come close. The R's do sound great stock and are the best VW ever made IMO. However, I'm very familiar with both and the only thing you'll be saving is a couple grand and some gas. I think the tip is whats getting you.

I thought the same thing...
already had a mkv jetta gli... it was REALLY nice... but not much more to say other than that I am back with a b6 S4.
as for the mkiv r32.... I would never be happy w/o a super charger, and I am not willing to invest. With that being said... they are friggin WAYYYYY over priced. Everyone thinks one with 30-50k mile is still worth high 20's$. They are high on the drugs. I would get a b5 for mid teen's before i drop 28k on a 04 GTI with 35k mi.
