They are unsafe and break.
The place for it is in the garbage.
Look at the Torin jack. It won't fit in the OEM space. But you will be able to use it knowing it won't bend. It doesn't have a screw crank either. It is hydraulic.

I bought two scissor jacks a while back and put velcro on a few spots and stick them in the fuzzy lining of the TT and S4 trunks. The handles fit in with the spare in both cars.
