Default best winter tires

I've shopped around a bit, and even checked out the forums for recommendations on winter tires. Does anyone have an updated opinion on a "great" winter tire??

Default According to this Tire Rack chart, the Dunlop WinterSport M3 is the way to go!

You can't always go by the TireRack surveys b/c some tires get many more reviews then others.

Default yeah, but the only tires I see in that chart with the right size

are the Blizzaks from Bridgestone and the Pirelli winter 240s

Also note that it's common to go 17" for winters.

I agree, even thought I have the LM-22's, I'm sure the 25's can only be better.

Default I love my Wintersports. Will get them again if they ever wear out!

Not only are they fantastic in the deep stuff but they are great on ice and still very good and civilised when the street becomes dry again, which, lets face it, happens all the time. Too many great SNOW tires SUCK on dry pavement. It's no fun "driving" and "sounding" like a "truck" on the dry pavement.

The Dunlops are my choice.
