Default Big PROBLEMS IN NEW CAR .....

Hey guys I just picked up my car on Monday Night and all hell has broken loose. My car yesterday with only 98 miles on it freaked out while at a light yesterday. The check engine light started to flash and a big shudder came over the car. Then when I tried to apply gas it hesitated and barely would go. Then it cut off all together about a mile later. Needless to say I am VERY PISSED OFF! I havent even gone over 4K on the tach. due to break in and then My car rewards me by doing this. Well needless to say roadside came and picked up my car and droped me off an a6. But that is not good enough. Today I spoke to the service manager at the dealership and he said I have lost compresion in the #8 cylinder and they dont know why. And now they are yanking the entire engine out on the recomendation of AOA so there guys can come check it out on Monday. This sucks so I called AOA and told them the only way I would be happy was with a NEW CAR not a new car with a fixed engine. they said they may just stick a new engine in if necessarry and I told them that was not going to be good enough. I am planning on writing a letter to them demanding a NEW car with about 20 miles on it or a full refund. No exceptions. This is my second S4 so I am a repeate customer but if they dont adhere graciously to my request I will never buy from them again and will take legal action if necessary. But I believe they will probably do the right thing to make me happy and to keep me coming back. My salesman seems to be on my side also I think it shold go well. But I am not a happy camper.

Default They will probably give you a new car...

Did they say if engineers from Germany were coming to look at it? They might want to take the car if they are, meaning you would get a new car. The people on the lowerside cant authorize a new car, you will have to work your way up the ladder and let your dealer fight for you as well. Remember your dealer works as a customer service rep for AoA, and AoA is the customer service rep for Audi GMbH. What area of the country are you in? Best of luck to you.

Default ok on a serious note

this is one small space of the total number of new S4's that are coming in, and I know after spending 55K + for the car and waiting, etc..

THIS IS F_in UNBELIEVABLE! I can only say that after following this board for some 3+ years, I DO NOT remember as many problems as EARLY on (ala first hundred f=in miles) that were so catastrophic. I must say, My 48K 01.5 S4 is really nice. and even though the resale value ain't good. I can say, If I DO consider an S4 (b6 that is), I'm waiting until Next YEAR like I did with my current S4 to see if they work out the bugs...

to those with problems, My condolences, I'm sure it's intensly frustrating !

Default negatory....no hold has been placed on the car....

if it was being "forcefully" kept at the port, a hold would be placed on it. This was the Case with the A8's when they had a problem (range finder IIRC)

Default 2 trains of thought here (yeah it's long).

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/17215/103-0399_img.jpg"></center><p>1) Matt, I've talked with you enough personally on this issue to say yeah I agree.

2) this is completely an "ENTHUSIAST" board only, so as we saw with the B5's that when the turbo lady started to pay some of those 00' owners a visit, everyone thought the sky was falling.

What really perks my interest is these are MAJOR quality issues that occur in the first WEEK or couple miles no less.. that's either some very bad QA (Quality Assurance) or something. i'd be really surprised to see if it was a Design flaw, b/c at the end of the day, someone somewhere for sometime, had to proove this car's powerplant before it got to "mass production status"

On the other end, this is embarrassing, but I'm going to reserve judgement until 6 months or so fromnow when all of this dust settles. When anticipation is high and demand along with economic conditions, competitive marketplace and audi's illustrious history of heavy initial depreciation, yeah, there are gonna be some SERIOUSLY pissed off people.

I can only imagine how I'd feel if I was in there shoes, with less than 200 miles on teh ODO and having a MAJOR failure only to go ona board and read that others are exp. the same problem.

tough situaiton for sure. Time will tell. If so Audi DEFINITELY has their work cut out.

.02 or so from my end.
