I was very intersted in the car as soon as I saw the photos, sice i thought that it looked so much better than the regular z4. In person, the car is stunning. The engine is essens.ially the same as the current m3, but it feels faster. However, it just lacked some of the refinement that the Cayman has. I walked away confused a bit. I liked the car (the interior is a huge dissapointment, however, so 'basic' and doesn't make you feel special), but it was too much like a track car for me. Still may get it eventually, when the leases will be more reasonable (got a quote for 12/36 $900+tax and no down, too high for a 55K car IMHO.

performance seems fairly similiar in a strait line, yes. When it comes to an autox tho, I am sure the Elise would be easier to drive faster. Both are a blast, but I think the BMW has a few more "amenities" than the Lotus, and the Lotus much much smaller. Think Mini Cooper, yet still smaller
