Default Brake pad suggestions?

I had EBC greenstuff and EBC rotors on my prior A4 quattro. They were great at minimizing brake dust. I would like to buy some pads that minimize brake dust, equal or better performance than stock, and keep my stock rotors.

Any suggestions with some experience are appreciated.

Paul

I have EBC Redstuffs. They still dust, but not as much as stock. Plus the dust is a lot easier to clean off. They don't have the initial bite of the stock pads, but they are not bad. One of the only pads available for the front and rear that I found.

Are Pagid or Mintex Red pads available for S4 (F/R)?

Default I don't think so.

But it's been about a year since I looked, so there could be more pads available for both the front and rear now.

Default You can have low dust or superior performance but not both...

Carbotech Bobcat is a lower dust ceramic that has ok performance (much better than the POS mintex). Hawk also makes a low dust ceramic and is a very reputable company.

Mike, in your opinion, are these equal to the stock pads? TIA

Default Worse initial bite (which is what you will find likely on all low dust pads), but better...

fade resistance than OEM.

They were pretty quiet for the first 5K miles or so as well. Some people experience very slight noise when cold after 5K miles but not bad at all.

The mintex on the other hand will not offer better fade resistance. They are sub performance in all respects but dust to OEM IMO.

Good initial bite is sign of a low performance pad. Racing pads don't bite until half-way down.

Default Centric-Posi or Porterfield R4-S pads are available F/R.....

Centric-Posi's Semi-Metallic pads are a quality low-dust replacement for the OEM Audi pads for the S4. Another quality replacement are the Porterfield R4S Ceramic/Kevlar compound pads.

Check Zeckhausen Racing for these pads. Centric-Posi's run $132.00 for the set, while the Porterfields run $220.

I hope this helps..
