Default My advice...

Find an STI and race him. Then you'll know for a certain whether or not your S4 can hang with one. Then, just to answer all questions, find an M3 and race it. Whenever people come on here making these rigid statements like, "There's NO WAY you can beat a (insert M3 or STI here)"... it just annoys me. We're not talking about racing a McLaren F1. That's a no win proposition. But racing an M3 or STI.... All I'm going to say is, try it.

You'll like it.

Default The STI will have you 0-60 due to mass but from a roll or higher up the speed range...

The S4 will pull the STI. A couple of my friends have them and from a dead start the STI will spank you. From a roll at 20...30...60mph it will be very even. Once the speeds top about 110 the S4 owns the STI. Over 120 you will pull the Subby bad. As far as on the track I bought an EVO VIII for that because my S4 is so heavy compared to the STI or the EVO. I love both my S4 and my EVO but for different reasons. The EVO is the hella crazy chick you always wanted to get a shot at and the S4 is the classy hot one you can introduce to your friends.

Default I really enjoyed introducing Gretchen to my friends!

Now she was wild. In fact, I did bring her home for a Christmas dinner once. My fascist uncle did not like her one bit. I say: all the better! Anyway. I STILL want an EVO VIII. I just don't think I could safely handle one on the track just yet. You lucky sack of @#$%!

Default Oh I suppose it depends on how things are set up...

I know heat soak would or has probably been an issue with B5 S4s since the turbos and other things don't have much room around them (from what I remember hearing).
