i have an extended warranty and a appointment scheduled for this coming friday. i brought the car used and now i am starting to believe the car may have been beaten on by the previous owner. ive owned the car for a lil over a yr and have clocked less than 10k miles. how should i proceed with the stealership? im thinking of having them run a compression test. any advice would be appreciated.

about 4 to 5 months ago. the right side was considerably worse than the left. i am also getting a good amount of black deposit/residue on both tailpipes, very soot like. im going through about 2 liters of oil every 1k miles

2L/1K miles!?! This is not good. To Audi, the sooner the better.

A puff of it on startup usually indicates bad valve seals. The rings could also be starting to go, so a compression test is a good idea. Have them do a leakdown test, too.

im also working on acquiring the service history on the car to see if there was anything major done to the car repair wise from the previous owner.

Depending on what your extended warranty covers. But, knowing Audi, they probably won't make it easy for you.
