I've got the CD changer in my glove box and I'd much prefer having ipod integration. Is it possible to swap it out for the ipod connector? Or, is it possible to have both?
If it is possible to swap, how much $?

the Audi iPod interface is a POS.
NO track names, the iPod appears as 6 virtual CD's - actually the first 5 playlists plus the complete contents of your iPod as "CD6". This is true for ALL iPod adapters that connect via the CD changer connection.
The iPod controls are always disabled.
AND you can't have the CD changer as well as the iPod, except if you go for the Dension 300 (which also enabvles the iPod controls when you're listening to "CD6").
IMHO don't waste your money on an iPod adapter.

I bought mine a couple of years ago when I bought my 2005.5. Not sure if it's still available, but you could google it.
While of course it would be great to control the iPod from the steering wheel and see the track info on the RNS-E (if you have Nav), leaving the iPod mounted in a bracket and using the iPod controls works very well for me.
I have just over 60GB of music, so the SD cards aren't an answer for me.

It works great. There are some little quirky things here and there but it does work and the steering wheel controls it. So in the end I have no regrets.
I'd be happy to send you a little write up I did a few months back with the whole install process if you'd like.
Good luck.

I've been gathering that the Audi interface is bad, but this confirms it for sure. It's obviously not worth the money. I'm thinking about just going with a basic FM modulator, but the SF area just has so much interference from previous experience.
It looks like the Denison is no longer sold in the US and the BlitzSafe works with XM and not Sirius...
