I'm torn between getting a B6 or B7 s4, as I love the B6 exterior but prefer the upgraded interior bits of the B7.

Can the B7's RNS navigation, 3-spoke steering wheel, and carbon fiber trim easily be installed on a B6? Do the steering wheel buttons work properly without custom wiring? If anyone has done these upgrades please chime in

Any other major interior differences I'm missing?

The Navigation yes...Not sure about the steering wheel. You can pull your existing trim off and send it out to be carbon wrapped by oCarbon.

Steering wheel can be done. I know there is a place out there that sells TT-RS steering wheels, which look like the B7 RS-4 European steering wheels with the flat bottom.

what about the airbag? Word is the airbag won't deploy of you go B6 to B7 (or newer) wheel. Two forum members found out the hard way. One was a mk 1 TT whose 2 stage airbag retrofitted wheel DID NOT fire when he smoked a tree (I think). The other was a B6 A4 who rear ended someone but had the same problem.

It appears the problem is the older cars have 1 stage airbag firing systems and the newer cars have 2 stage systems.

Here is the photo evidence of the A4 that didn't have the airbag work...(despite the passenger side bag deploying, thus it was a sufficient speed that it warranted airbag deployment)
