For 50k, there should be no bad apples, right? For a chasis thats been out for a few years, this should not be an issue. I've seen other posts on the same thing.

Audi is not exactly the poster child for flawless quality. Benz has their issues too with all their electronic crap breaking, but at least their 50k models generally are put together well.

if it's a legitimate problem that the dealer can't fix in 3 attempts within the first year of ownership, that makes it a 'lemon' by law in most states, which means you get a new car.
btw, you should hear my in-laws' WRX...the interior is a buzz bomb extraordinaire.

Mine has been doing this lately, this freaking annoying noise from the back seat. I had to ask my dad to sit in the back to find out where it is coming from....

Newer MB's, unless you buy the 600s and 65 AMGs, are some of the most poorly put together vehicles out there. Audi is not the poster child for flawless quality as you stated. But at least they are put together better or much better than newer Benzes other than the 600s and 65 AMGs.

Personally, I loved the CLK430 when it came out, yes! However, more horsepower and a different interior made the 500 a better car I think. Plus, in warm weather, with MB removing the middle pillar in the CLK500 seperating the front and rear windows was great. Roll down the windows and there are no blinds spots, just one open space was nice. If it came down to the RS4 or the CLK63, RS4 all the way! Quattro, and probably a lower center of gravity, leads to better handling. Whether it is 420HP in the RS4 or 480HP in the CLK, I would for sure choose the RS4. It will outperform the AMG in the turns I think.

Plus, my dealer couldn't diagnose a problem if it fell out of the sky, landed on his face, and wiggled. Took them 3 trys, three, to find my big oil leak that just required taking off one of the covers under the car.

IMHO the CLK had better brakes; the no b-pillar was sweet too. I didn't like the quality of the interior, the S4 surpasses it. I had big issues with reliability in the CLK none so far with the Audi and coming from a winter climate it would be RS4 for sure, add in the extra doors and 6speed it's not much of a comparison for me! Are they even going after the buyer ?
