Complete electrical shutdown

Complete electrical shutdown
OK, so I get my car back from getting rear ended (about 2 months after I bought it! Grrr). Now, 3 times the car suffers complete shutdown. Nothing works, pings, lights up, locks, unlocks, etc. Nada. COmplete electric death. I cannot even lock the door.
I have my wife drive me down the other set of keys I have (that worked the 2nd time, the firat was picking up at bodyshop--owned by AUdi dealer so I'm OK there). This didn't work this time. However, after waiting for Audi assistance for 40 minutes, it suddenly comes alive and starts. I drove right to the dealer (I had an appt to look into this tomorrow anyway and to swap out my winter wheels).
I've searched the archives, and got bubkiss on the topic.
Anyone ever hear of or suffer this issue?
P.S. I saw a new B7 S4 waiting to be prepped, and I'm going to drive that and the C7 A6 4.2 S-line when and if my car is done. I'm thinking of dumping this one, much as I like it. I'm worried about getting sranded somewhere--not a feeling you should have with a brand new, $50K car.

I bet the body shop did not re-secure the battery cables properly.
They probably unplugged the battery while working on your car and just set one or both of the battery leads <b>on</b> the terminal post, forgetting to actually tighten it/them.

agreed
BTW, they should be able to scan the car for codes. If the battery connection is causing the issue, they will probably see a power interrupt code in the ECU. Of course if they didn't clear that code when they delivered the car to you, the presence of that code doesn't exactly confirm anything.
