Computer MPG vs real
So I reset my #2 trip computer at the last fill and this time again, it was off by more than 1mpg.
It read 11.5 at this fill, and I really got 12.7
184 miles on 14.5 gallons.
Oh this was all Berkeley hills/street.
Anyone noticing anything similar here?

Re: Your dealer should be able to adjust the computer....
On my 2004 S4, I check the fuel consumption every time I fill up. The trip computer is consistently 7% pessimistic on consumption. This 7% does not account for odometer error which I estimate to be about 1.5% pessimistic.
I've only done 4,000 miles and am planning to have the dealer check it out at the 5,000 service. I'm hoping they can adjust it as you suggest.

Trip computer was 1 mpg pessimistic at indicated 15 mpg before dealer reset, and 2 mpg pessimistic after! Will have to go back for another try.

Re: Your dealer should be able to adjust the computer....
Here is follow-up after a couple of years, with reading 2 mpg pessimistic after 5,000 mile service reset! Following second try by dealer at 15,000 mile service, trip computer mpg reading was now 3 mpg pessimistic at 15 mpg true consumption, i.e. 1 mpg more inaccurate. After recent third try at 17,300 miles, computer is still 3 mpg pessimistic at 15 mpg. Dealer claimed to have had instructions on resetting the computer from Audi headquarters, but readout didn't change from 20% off.
Anyone out there know how to reset the computer reading? The true mileage has been determined from every tank fill-up since new, and the odometer has been calibrated and is reasonably accurate. Help!
