Default Conti tire bulge...need advice

Yesterday I was driving down the road and my car just felt weird. I pulled in to check tire (driver's side front) and it was like 10-15 psi low. I filled it up and got back on the freeway. Now it felt really crappy. Lots of vibrations out of the wheel. I pulled over and changed the tire only to find two bulges on the inside of the tire. One was about 6-8 inches long and the other about 2 inches long. The tires have 17K miles on them. Is it advisable to replace just the one tire, or should I get all new tires given the miles and the possibility of another tire going bad?

I am pretty sure this happened when Highway 24 (Nor Cal) was under construction and I hit a huge freaking lip where they cut out the road up to the edge of a small bridge. It felt like I hit a 2" difference in height and it sounded nasty.

Default Your tires are done.... replace all of them....

15k miles is about all the conti's are worth and you have 17k miles.... they need to be replaced.

Default Yep. I am in the same boat.

The stealership took a look at my contis and noticed I had some cord showing. Time to replace. These tires really suck for wear.

Default Okay, that's what I thought. Now what tire....?.........

Tirerack.com = Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
On Special $167 per tire, comes with $75 gas card with purchase of four tires.

Edgeracing.com = Toyo Proxes T1r
$157 per tire.

Any other recommended tires/websites?

Default time to replace them

I had similar problems on my B5 S4 back in 2000 when I hit a couple pot holes. The conti tires just bubbled up and drove funny on impact. I had to replace them. I contacted AoA about it back then and they told me they did not cover tire problems. Then a year later they offered to reimburse me for the bubbled tires.

I actually have a set of 18" Contis in my garage that I have never used. I had the dealer switch my tires for some all seasons before I took delivery of the B6 S4. The dealer did not want to deal with selling the Contis so I just tossed them in my garage. I should sell them, since they are new and I doubt I will ever use them. Here in Iowa, all seasons are the ticket. I'd sell the contis cheap, but shipping would probably be pricey.

Default That really is a great deal. nothingleft I may be interested in your Contis...

A lot of people here don't like them but I think they're fine. These are the SportContact2s correct? If so drop me an email meisterkleef at yahoo dot com.
