by everything I mean brake fluid and pads mostly. I had hoped to get a few things modded before 5/15-16 Audi club NHIS event but time is running out fast. The closer it gets the more tempted I am to see what this car is like bone stock (except BBS RGRs) and just hope the brake fluid and pads hold up. Has anyone tracked their car like this? In the past I've been on track with a few different cars all of which were well modded so it's new ground for me.... My 05.5 S4 has 6000 miles on it but only about 2000 on the oem PS2s (they had the winter off)so I know they'll be fine and I have a spare to back me up just in case - take a look it's a beauty!

save the new fluid for after a few more track events, or maybe even next season when you decide to do more upgrades like SS lines or even new rotors, etc.

I was just generally speaking in the interest of saving a buck based on previous cars I've tracked with similar mileage.

I'm leaning towards a stoptech stage 2 upgrade kit - this is not a BBK - but consists of: StopTech's SportStop slotted or drilled rotors, StopTech stainless steel brake lines, street performance pads and 3 bottles of Motul RBF600 brake fluid. Rotors, lines and pads are for both front and rear. Components can also be purchased separately. FITS STOCK CALIPERS.
But I'll want to upgrade to a better pad geared for lapping days so from this list are any faves of the gang here? or other recommendations...

brake pad list

especially since the upcoming event is far from home and between school reg, hotel, travel, banquet and all It's too much money to lose if I get parked with bum brakes on day one. There would be no way to regroup and fix it better for day 2 on my own.... so I guess I need to go prepared

many high-performance cars come perfectly trackable right from the dealers lots when new and will remain that way even after 5-10k miles of normal street use prior to a first track event. Also, in most cases, replacing relatively new fluid in a relatively new car is pointless and a waste.
There are some exceptions of course, and perhaps the S4 is one of them being that it is heavy and doesn't have cross-drilled rotors and efficient brake ducting for optimal cooling. But what do I know?
As far as "most track experienced drivers will do this before the first track day of the season" well of course they would, on any car no longer new. Doesn't take a track experienced driver to recognize this, just common sense.
