Default I've never seen a chip maker make one peep about all this stuff. Can someone pin one of them down

and squeeze some answers out of them? :P

Something real, something technical.

More than "We've improved throttle response"

... gimme the gory details! :P

There isn't anything more than that, unfortunately.. They don't attempt to screw with DBW.

Default I'm not so sure about that. There's a delay, and you can be on part throttle and feel it.

Ever been manuevering around in traffic, and you let the clutch out and give it some gas.. and about 1/2 second later you feel the car jerk forward without moving the pedal?

It's not the usual DBW lag, as it's like DBW lag compounded with "oh, the clutch is back at home position, mooore timing advance coming right up!"

Default Well then, in that case, it's the "luxury comfort" attempt by Audi via DBW like I thought...HOWEVER

as we know, WOT is often reached at 1/2 throttle.

Man, this is endless.

Default I need to get my vagcom out again. I tried holding the pedal to the floor and turning the key on...

No difference I could tell whatsoever.

Default Don't bother. Someone did it on b7 forum to prove GP wrong. The "throttle adapt" does nothing.

Default 2 Questions

Does the very heavy engine braking have anything to do with this? It happens so much more in 1st than other gears, I assumed it was engine braking from all the friction in the chains on such a small V8..

And have you pulled fuse #7? I was thinking about that this weekend. I'd like to see how raw it is, as it seems like I have throttle lag with aggressive acceleration in all gears at lower RPM (2-4k), but I know this is before the bulk of the powerband in the upper 5-6k range so maybe it's just relative?

Default Great research! That's exactly how it feels...

Throttle delays, overresponse, clutch burning smells...DBW SUCKS! Anyone have similar data with REVO or other? That would be very interesting indeed, and convince me to chip despite warranty if improvements are apparent (but from what Sia says, seems limited to low speed and aggressive driving only...)

Give it up. I took issue with that procedure recently. It is a ghost story.
