My 2004 S4 has been acting up lately, if the car sits for a while (usually overnight) when I go start the car I have to hold the key in the on position for about 10 seconds before the car will start... after it starts there's usually no problems and the car will start fine for the remainder of the day (unless it's sitting for more than a couple hours).. I have already taken the car in for this problem but according to the dealer "no problem was found" and in turn was charged $110 for diagnostics (bull****). I have booked another appointment with Audi for this problem. I am wondering if anyone has had this problem before? This was the last straw for this car, after this problem gets fixed car is for sale. Nothing but problems with this car.

bad starter, solenoid, or switch. Someone had a bad ground too. I had the same problem and it finally turned out to be the starter. I had to leave it at the dealer for a couple of days till they could reproduce it over night. Got worse over time and as it got colder. Do a search here and at AZ and you should come up with something. Good luck.

Thing is, the car is under warranty, it only has 50,000km or roughly 32,000 miles. They charged me a diagnostics fee because as they regularly say "can't duplicate problem" they charge the fee if you are or aren't under warranty, ****ing retarded to tell you the truth.
