Default You have to get creative...it's a bummer that they say it's a perfect fit when it's not...

I installed the Sparco pedals they used to sell on my B5 S4 a long time ago. While your pedals have better hole locations compared to the Sparcos...I would suggest the same procedure for installing. For the gas pedal...it being plastic and all...I just drilled holes all the way through the pedal and used philips head bolts that went all the way through, and secured them from the backside with nuts and washers...you can also use extra washers under the pedal cover itself to make it level with the brake pedal. With the brake pedal made the way it is, you can also do the same thing I did with the gas pedal. The clutch is the only pedal I used tapping cause the Sparco holes are in the center, and you probably know by now that the clutch pedal has that ridge on the backside of it...this made the bolt idea for me impossible...so I tapped those holes and put more philips bolts in to keep the same look as the other pedals. But it looks like the AWE holes are put in such a way that you could use nuts and bolts to secure the cover down. Hope that helps...Good Luck. Look at it this way...tapping holes and securing the pedals always leaves the chance that they might strip due to all the force the pedals are subjected to. My way of using bolts and nuts ensures a tight fit all the time...and in the odd case where they do come loose it's simple to tighten them down.

Default Mine too are coming in next week, have you tried...

bending the pedal ever so slightly over something, say a baseball bat or something w/ a similar curvature as the specific pedal?

I know that AWE says "Perfect Fit" and we all say WTF & "#@$%"...I would/will be saying the same thing...But rather than the shim thing, that's what I would do...

BTW, I ordered mine to replace the Autovation Pedals I got in early spring...I kinda like the looks of the AWE much better and I too, bit on the price...

When I installed my Autovation Pedals, they too were slightly off (similar curvature issue) & some other mounting issues (bolts not long enough @ one location) and I had to bend them ever-so-slightly, till they sat perfectly flush...

Not having the AWE pedals in front of me, I can't tell if they are, at all pliable or bendable?

What you need to do is bend & tweek it, little by little so that you don't put a large bend in them...Just very small ones in different parts of the inner pedal surface.

Give it a try.

Hope this helps

Default yeah, I thought about bending them too, but anodized alum will get stretch marks...

perhaps a slight tweak here and use bolts and washers through instead of just set screws (like ZephyrS$ says below)..we'll see

Default Doesn't look like those were made for the B6.

Is it possible you got a B5 kit...or did they do a "one size fits all" deal with these?

Default question about pedals> (nice rims btw..)

compared to the OEM, do you think have more "feel" w/the Oettinger pedals? In other words, do you think the rubber on the oem pedals cut out more vibration than the aluminum on the Oettinger? I have the Oettinger and am just wondering if it's my imagination but I swear I can "feel" more through the pedal.

Default Re: question about pedals

I never really felt any difference through the pedal feel. I have switched to aluminum pedals on all the cars I have owned...mainly for looks, but also for increased grip. I think I noticed more feel when I went to the 19" wheels.

Default I had a similar experience, with a B5 & a set of Conrero Titanium pedal covers- - ->

The radius of the pedals was much tighter than the covers.

On the clutch and brake, which on a B5 are at different angles, I mounted the tops of the covers with one washer under them and hung about a quarter of an inch of the bottom off the edge of the pedal. I figured most of the pressure was going to be on the bottom edge hence the top edge should be most secure. In addition, it made the orientation of the pedals much more attractive and comfortable.

The accelerator was a whole different story...Like yours, the radius on the gas is very tight and the pedal cover is very nearly flat. I drilled through the gas pedal and put the stainless screws and nuts on losely. I then tested the orientation of the pedal and after finding an angle that was comfortable I tightened the nuts.
<img src="http://images7.fotki.com/v113/photos/4/43687/829500/P4040011-vi.jpg">

All stainless bolts were cut to size, and I used nylon insert nuts. Then I used acorn nuts to cap the bolts so I would scratch any of my shoes (bad dress shoe fetish).

I did them on April 4th this year and they are still perfectly aligned and solid as the day they went in. I never mounted the dead pedal since the Conrerowas obviously the wrong size...

First, thank you for your purchase.

Second, in order to offer an economically priced pedal cover kit, we decided on a design that was a slight compromise between the non-drive-by-wire accelerator pedal curve and the drive-by-wire accelerator pedal curve. In order to have these pedal covers made and offer them at the price we are, we had to have several hundred sets made at once.

We felt that the side profile was an acceptable compromise since the user does not see that angle except for during install. And once the accelerator pedal is installed, the upper and lower bolts keep the cover anchored in all directions. Even though there is a gap at the top and bottom like in the original post's picture, the pedal cannot move to close either gap.

If this slight gap bothers anyone, it is easily fixable. Simply massage a little more of a radius in the cover. In order to avoid very slight crazing of the hard anodizing, be sure to brace the cover from behind at the arrow point in the attached picture on a curved edge (like the edge of a counter top or baseball bat) and gently roll the ends. The curve acheived in the attached picture took less than 1 minute to produce.

Once again, we do not consider the radius mismatch to be a functional issue, and once installed the gap cannot be seen or felt, however this procedure is available for people who need to do it.

If you are uncomfortable with this modification, please feel free to return the pedals for a full refund. Please contact sales person here for instructions on how to do this.

Thank you.
